That means that when driving in areas where a GPS signal is intermittent, such as intense urban environments with tall buildings or mountainous terrain, you'll continue to get navigation guidance even if you lose GPS reception. The Garmin Navigation StreetPilot 2660 is a plug-and-play portable automotive GPS navigator that features MapSource City Navigator pre-loaded and hard dive stored, detailed maps of Europe right out of the box. This means no unlocking or uploading map data to your unit! Motorists can navigate to a specific address or access an industry-leading database of more than five million points of interest including lodging, restaurants, petrol stations, and local attractions. The intuitive, menu-driven touchscreen ensures that navigating the unit is as easy as navigating the road. This Garmin Navigation StreetPilot 2660 also features a high-resolution colour touchscreen with voice prompted turn-by-turn navigation and a powerful microprocessor for fast route calculation and map redraw. The system includes a unique, infrared remote control, which allows easy operation of the unit from a distance. To use this feature, a special dead reckoning cable must be connected to the vehicle's speedometer and reverse lights.
